Just Finished: "The Five People You Meet in Heaven"

Wow, this book was very good! I actually finished it on Friday, too.

I really don't know what to say about the book, but I do know that it made me think about things. The most obvious, of course, was death, but it also made me think about how life works.

If you read it, you'll see what I mean. There were a few moments I teared up. I recommend it if you haven't read it!

(Kira: I think your dad would like it!!!!)

Next up: The Chronicles of Narnia. I decided to read this book now because I have a 7th grader who is dealing with reading comprehension issues. So, I asked her to read it. I told her I'd read it too, and we could "discuss" it. I also found some online resources for it, so I'm hoping it works! Then, maybe I can sponsor a movie night for my students!

  1. Have you read the 500 People You Meet in Hell? It's by Filipino author Jessica Zafra who is known for her acerbic wit. Interesting book too.

  2. I read this book years ago and while I was not fully blown away by the writing the concept was so powerful and made me think about who would be my 5 people.
Good luck with The Chronicles of Narnia are you doing the whole series? Other than my daughter who is also 7th grade level (we homeschool) we have all read the series. I need to see if I have the full series for her to read or not, if not I know what to get for her Christmas book.
We are about to start To Kill a Mockingbird with the boys here. I even have the movie recorded to watch, I loved that movie.

Oh, someone else just finished The 5 People, and I suggested a book to them, it is called Live Like You Are Dying by Michael Morriss, very good.

  4. I will let me dad know that he needs to get on reading that book! He's had it since father's day! =)

Good luck with Narnia. I attempted Narnia suicide over summer. I tried my best to read them all but for such small books, and although I LOVE the movies, the books moved awfully slow (for me at least). I was only able to get through The Magician's Nephew. I may try again in the future...my reading list keeps growing and growing haha.

Oh! Thanks for the award =) I haven't had the chance yet to post it on my blog but I'm getting there!

    How is your job going?
